An automatic that has stopped by morning is the most reported watch fault and the least often an actual fault.
An automatic winds from wrist motion, and a desk job does not produce much of it. Most of these watches are simply never reaching a full wind.
Work through these before assuming the movement is tired.
The short answer
The most likely explanation
A rotor winds the mainspring when your arm moves. Typing, driving and sitting produce very little of that motion, so a watch worn all day at a desk can end the day less wound than it started.
Wind it thirty to forty turns by hand first, then judge. A watch that has never been fully wound has never been given a chance to demonstrate its reserve, and almost every complaint of this kind starts there.

Check the arithmetic before blaming the watch

Most common movements hold between 38 and 45 hours. Take a watch off at seven in the evening on Friday and a 40-hour reserve is gone by Sunday morning. That is the movement working correctly, not failing.

When it is genuinely a fault
If you wind it fully by hand, do not wear it, and it still stops well short of its stated reserve, that is a real problem and the answer is a service.
The usual culprits are a slipping mainspring bridle or degraded lubricants, both of which are addressed during a normal service rather than as a separate repair.

Living with it
If the reserve genuinely does not cover your wearing pattern, you have three options and only one of them involves a watchmaker.
Hand-wind it each morning, which takes ten seconds and is what people did for a century. Use a winder, which our turns-per-day calculator covers. Or buy a longer reserve next time.
Leaving a watch stopped does it no harm. The old worry about oils settling is largely obsolete with modern lubricants, and a stopped watch is wearing nothing at all.
