Guess gets dismissed faster than almost any watch brand, usually by people who have never checked what is on the spec sheet.
Look it up and something odd appears. The cheapest brand in the fashion tier carries the best water resistance in it, by a wide margin, and it is built by a division of a real watch company.

The gold-tone bracelet model with the date window is rated to 100 metres, which is 10 ATM, and it sells for around $86.
Set that against the rest of the tier. Daniel Wellington rates every model at 3 ATM and charges $179 to $279. Fashion chronographs from the Fossil stable typically reach 5 ATM. Guess is the cheapest brand here and the only one comfortable in a swimming pool.

What will actually wear out
Not the movement. A Timex-group quartz calibre will keep time for years on battery changes, and that is the least of anyone’s worries.
The finish is the real question. Gold-tone and rose gold-tone plating on a bracelet takes constant abrasion from clasp and cuff, and set crystals sit in tiny prongs that eventually loosen. Expect the sparkle to fade before the watch stops working, which is the standard bargain across the whole decorative tier.
